We would love to have you apply to speak! You don\u2019t need to be a professional speaker or have past speaking&nbsp;experience. All we ask is that you have WordPress related knowledge to share with the community. And, we love local speakers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What to Know<\/strong> <strong>Before You Apply<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Plan for a 30-40 minute presentation.<\/li><li>You can submit more than one topic, but fill out one form for each topic.<\/li><li>No previous speaking experience is required.<\/li><li>You MUST submit your proposal by February 29, 2020 (that\u2019s Leap Day).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#c4001b;color:#ffffff\" class=\"has-text-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">All applications must be submitted by <strong>Saturday, February 29, 2020<\/strong>. <br>We plan to notify all applicants mid-March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Suggested Topics<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some suggested topics we\u2019d love to see at WordCamp Houston:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Accessibility<\/li><li>Analytics<\/li><li>Branding<\/li><li>Business<\/li><li>Design<\/li><li>Development<\/li><li>E-commerce<\/li><li>Page Builders<\/li><li>Search Engine Optimization<\/li><li>Security<\/li><li>and more!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Speaker Application Tips<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>When pitching your talk, focus on the audience, not the selection committee. If your speech is selected, we will publish the information from your submission, including title and description.<\/li><li>Be clear about what the audience will learn and why that is important. Be detailed, but be succinct.<\/li><li>Choose a topic you know well and convey why you\u2019re qualified to speak on the subject. We aren\u2019t looking for experts, but we want to see that you know your stuff.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#c4001b;color:#ffffff\" class=\"has-text-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">Call for speakers has closed.
